I like my horror survival games and ILL is looking very promising, monsters (looking like zombies or at least some kind of infected humans) look fantastic and really creepy, along with some possibly intelligent behaviour such as throwing objects at the player or picking up things to use as weapons. They have some kind of progressive mutation for no doubt special and variant foes, the realistic style with dismemberment mechanics and foes rag-dolling from gun shots looks like it would be fun to play with. I like the scenario being implied that your character is going to have to survive the monsters and highly equipped military operatives also in the same area that don't seem too friendly ether.
Being court between both monsters and these exoskeleton soldiers is going to make a really tense and interesting survival challenge, I'm very keen to find out what your characters role in all this is and what the story behind the monsters is.
Like a number of people ILL has been on my radar for a while, hence my excitement thanks to the proof of conceptĀ and teaser videos that have been going around for years, there's been a lot of various snippets that honestly made it a bit hard to pin down what really was going to be in the game or not.
A lot of the videos I saw where re-uploaded but I think most of the ones I saw have originated from MaxVerehin's YouTube (one of the founders) he's posted I think both genuine game concepts and unrelated videos just using the games assets or at least rendered in it's style. There cool ether way so maybe give him a watch if you like creepy animations.
A number of people have called ILL a fake game, with all the pre-rendered videos just being a way to get money on Patreon, I personally just thought it might be one of those forever in development games where ideas kept getting shifted around. So I had somewhat filed ILL under a great game that I was probably never going to see until the other day.
I am very much hoping that it is indeed going to be a real game and dose live up to the bar the trailer has set, I don't know if I'm going to pre-order though, unless it's a studio I really trust I personally tend to wait a bit to find out if a game is worth getting or not. I think the scepticism is warranted in todays gaming industry, games like Cyberpunk 77, No Man's Sky, Fallout 76 and Aliens Colonial Marines promised a lot but where big disappointments on launch for various reasons.
So yes I'm excited but I'll try to avoid getting fully on the hype train until there's something more solid to work with, but what do you think? Are you excited for ILL or a bit on the fence about it like me? I'd really like to discuss this with other Horror game fans.
